BDPS First Thursday dance on February 6th won our hearts. The decor was elegantly themed for Valentine’s Day. The night started with a tango lesson, a passionate dance to set the mood. Many of us wore beautiful red outfits. Charlene’s sequenced masterpiece added to the festive atmosphere. Despite the threat of rain, we had a full house with 130 people attending of which 20% were first timers to a BDPS event.
Particularly adept and beautiful young dancers from Melbourne, Florida, Rob and Celeste Molt, shared their talent with members. They really enjoyed the dance and we hope to see them again soon.
Our Pro/Am showcase was a very luscious and sexy West Coast Swing (WCS) performed by Dawn Bustamanti and her student David Paris to “Wade in the Water”. Perfect R&B rhythm for the WCS.
My favorite part was the Member’s Music Choice which added nice diversity and pizzazz to the night by letting us “express ourselves”. See you on March 5th for the next First Thursday Dance.
We thoroughly enjoyed the music and dancing at this dance. The mood was festive and everyone commented on the songs played. It was the highlight of the evening and we are sure looking forward to more enjoyable variety of music in future dances. I must say that Steve outdid himself, and did an excellent job! Thanks!!
