We have dances at the General Robert H Reed Recreation Center, 800 Gabreski Lane in Myrtle Beach.  Some of the events are themed such as our Great Gatsby Dance in April.  Others are Juz Dancing.  Sometimes we provide food, other times our members food for the community table.  The admittance price varies depending on the event.  Everyone is welcome.  Non-members pay a nominal additional fee.  You may BYOB at the facility.

You ask, What is a Codfish Ball?  Shirley Temple sang and danced to the song “Dancing at the Codfish Ball” in the movie Captain January in 1936.  We had own performance to the Codfish Ball by the Girls Nextdoor (Sandy, Melinda and Margo).  They were dressed in replicas of Shirley Temple’s sailor outfit and did a really cute dance.  There were sea critters everywhere and we ate codfish balls. It was such a fun night!
