Ron and Beth Blankenstein, Charter Members, Murrells Inlet, SC

We are Beth and Ron Blankenstein and we have been dancing for about 25 years. Having never danced in my life, Beth put a flyer on our kitchen table offering ballroom dance lessons at our local middle school. We took an eight we class and then another; and then we were hooked!

In 2005 our teacher asked if I wanted to train to become a teacher in her studio. I was hesitant but said yes and I have been teaching ever since.

In 2014, we moved from NH to retire in SC. Soon we began teaching at Tidelands HealthPoint and developed a wonderful bunch of friends and dancers. We probably won’t retire from teaching until our feet or our minds wear out!

We are charter members of BDPS and recently began teaching a class for this wonderful organization here in Murrells Inlet. Sadly, this class has been put on hold during these days of Covid 19.

While we wait for classes and dances to resume, we keep active by walking more frequently with our golden retriever, Brady. We read, Beth sews, and we cook! We are considering making some videos for our students as we always have said that they can practice anywhere, be it there driveway, there garage, the street, or a small corner of your home! Maybe we will demonstrate by example! If we do, we’ll send one to Charlene to post in the BDPS website.
